About the program

Step away from the boardroom and into the wilderness with The Campfire Boardroom - a powerful leadership and wellbeing retreat designed for corporate professionals. Set in the tranquil surrounds of Kangaroo Valley, NSW (just two hours from Sydney, three hours from Canberra and one hour from Wollongong), this retreat is designed to foster clarity, enhance collaboration and build meaningful human connection - far beyond what traditional conferences or strategy days can offer.

The Campfire Boardroom can also be facilitated around Australia, at locations across NSW, Queensland, ACT and the Northern Territory. 

Participants will:

• Feel immersed in nature and appreciate the importance of being still. There will be a daily practice of meditation and breathing techniques.
• Participate in challenges both physically and mentally that invigorate and empower.
• Participate in activities that enhance collaboration, communication and promote a sense of belonging.
• Have fun.
• Provide a network of friends as future contacts for ongoing connection.

The program has been designed to build resilience, enhance self-esteem and empower the participant, and is delivered over a 3 day/2 night or 5 day/4 night format.

Everything is provided - accommodation, nutritious meals, equipment, expert guiding, and (if required) transport. Each evening concludes with a "Boardroom Meeting" around a campfire - an open-air circle for honest conversations, listening, storytelling, or simply sitting in presence. Alcohol is permitted in moderation, but the spirit of the program is one of mindfulness and clarity.

Time spent in the wilderness and around the campfire provides a unique environment to share ideas, brainstorm, collaborate but more importantly, appreciate those around you in a way that is in stark contrast to the work environment.

Mental health and wellbeing

Being in an outdoor environment immersed in the beautiful surrounds of nature has its own therapeutic benefits. When combined with experiential activities where small challenges are presented, the resulting energy has a powerful impact upon group dynamics. As the challenges incrementally increase over the duration of the camp, there requires support and nurturing from within the group. 

The Campfire Boardroom program is also a magical opportunity to participate in a process of self-empowerment. The unique combination of outdoor adventure activities combined with time spent around a campfire simply chatting or 'shooting the breeze', the ideal environment is created for sharing to occur. 

Sharing thoughts about the day’s activities, sharing responses to the outdoor challenges, sharing thoughts on life, possibly sharing one's own personal story but always knowing that you are in a safe and trusted space where you can be genuinely heard. It doesn't matter if at the end of the program you don't abseil off that cliff edge, what matters is that you have a group of mates who support YOUR decision because your space is being held by that group of supporters.

Results are not necessarily defined by success but by a cohesive response where participants have worked collaboratively in pursuit of an enriching outcome. A qualifiable process that nurtures intrinsic development and fosters positive relationships within a group dynamic.
